“and then I just breathed.”

— Dr. Jenna Morcos, PharmD

Our Story

Over the years, other salt rooms opened in Charlotte, but none come close to the immersive experience I had. I have spent hours in different salt rooms, imagining and depicting the elements of what makes an experience feel ethereal. It is not just about salt, but also the environment in which the salt therapy is given. I wanted to answer the questions of: What helped me feel calm, peace, love, healing, and transformation? What are the elements that touched my soul? And how can I create this for other souls?

This is where my 20+ years of experience as a pharmacist collided with holistic and natural approaches to health and wellness. I have always had one foot in the western approach to medicine, but I have also personally benefitted in mind, body, and spirit from a variety of alternative ways to better health. There is value in both and understanding how the two intersect is what led me on this journey. Salt & Souls is the result of combining western and holistic approaches to wellness.

Stay salty ~ Jenna

My first salt spa experience was in 2015. I was going through a divorce with three young children and my emotional well being was fragile. Heartbroken and scared for what the future held, I went into a salt room to relax and have a moment of self pampering. What I experienced was beyond my expectations.

For an hour I reclined in a zero gravity chair with a warm lavender neck pillow and closed my eyes in the dimly lit, warm room with soothing music. And then I just breathed. That’s all. I know there were benefits happening in my physical body from the salt air because that was explained to me by the owner before my session. However, what I felt was calm, peace, and love. I had never felt more relaxed in my life. Transformed. Healed. From salt? No, not just salt, but from the environment as a whole.
